About the event
Beginning Beekeeping - We will teach you about the hive and the society of bees and their roles in the hive. How to install your bees and how and where to set up your beehive. We will cover how to inspect your hive and manage it. How to keep your hive alive through the year and the coming winter. We will teach you how to harvest the honey from the hive. How much should be left for the winter.
Beekeeping is the most interesting mix of parts science and parts Art. Being the steward of such fascinating bees and helping to protect their world and give them guidance and help as needed. The Art of Beekeeping is understanding the hive and it's citizens. As you observe and watch your bees. Enjoy the journey into the world of the Honey Bee.
Classes are 2.5 hours long. Classes can fill up fast for in person with limited seating. Please make sure you note the location of this class in the description before checking out.
We will be holding additional classes in May to help guide you along through the honey flow and summer months. Also we will have some dates where we will visit a bee yard and get our hands sticky while learning and answering any questions you may have. We will have these posted at a later date. Please subscribe to the website to receive those later dates.
